After Picasso, all this new type of art was born:  surrealism, cubism, expresionism, etc. it is hard to me now to define what is art and what is trash. We live in a capitalist globlized world , where people will try to sale you anything in the name of Art. I hope some day we reborn as in the renaissance age we did and return to the classic but in an advanced way.

Renaissance Art

Known as the Renaissance, the period immediately following the Middle Ages in Europe saw a great revival of interest in the classical learning and values of ancient Greece and Rome.
we can see how art became more developed in the use of colors, shape and strokes. The discovery of the "new world" helped to have a wider vision and it is stronger linked to the way the artists showed it on their creations. 

Ghotic Art

The painting, sculpture, and architecture have an specific characteristic of the second of two great international eras that flourished in western and central Europe during the Middle Ages. Gothic art evolved from Romanesque art and lasted from the mid-12th century to as late as the end of the 16th century in some areas. 

The idea of representing the "heaven" on earth inside this magnificent and huge churchs , makes me realize that human beings are capable of whatever they imagine. 

Roman Art

Roman artists copied, imitated, and innovated to produce art on a grand scale, sometimes compromising quality but on other occasions far exceeding the craftsmanship of their predecessors.
while they were increasing thier territory, they were adapting and creating new types of art, they used it not only to decorate their temples but also to develop their infrastructure within their cities.

Many plays from shakespeare have almost all the elements that constitue an scenic art. ideas, thoghts, music and  poems are included in it. when you see a play from shakespeare, you can feel yourself as if you were inside the play living the moment.

CUBISM

Cubist explored open form, piercing figures and objects by letting the space flow through them, blending background into foreground, and showing objects from various angles. Some historians have argued that these innovations represent a response to the changing experience of space , movement and time in the modern world.

Art as Expression

This type of art is when artist proceed to express their feelings and ideas in words or paint or stone or other creations, clasifying them and achieving a release of tension.the main idea of this seems to be that artist, having been perturbed at the inarticulateness of their "ideas", now feel relieved because they have "expressed what they wanted to express".

For me, I think that when you see, read o listen something that was created to express an emotion , you personally feel o perceive the stress, the madness or the happiness that the artist wanted to transmit . it is not easy to take off something that is bothering you in the inside and put it out on a paper , on a stone or whatever.  

Art as Shock

Shock art is contemporary art that incorporates disturbing imagery, sound or scent to create a shocking experience. it is a way to disturb  "smug, complacent and hypocritical" people.

The first time a watched this short film, I couldn't sleep. I spent all night thinking about it , the music was rummbling deep down inside my head.  it made me realize, in a strange way, how limited time do we have to live our life and how  knowledge is pass from one persone  to another.    

Art as Mimesis

The word mimesis comes from Greek and it means "imitation"as a representation rather than of "copying". Plato and Aristotle spoke of mimesis as the representation of nature.

It is very amazing how this artist reproduce the nature using human bodyes and paint. The accuracy of the images could make us think that we are actually watching a real animal.

CONCEPTS OF ART

ART AS BEAUTY

Greek art often displayed gods, goddesses, heroes, and athletes. They tried to show ideal beauty and nature.

According to some philosophers, beauty may have some rational properties, such as “order, symmetry, and proportion,” but it is really an experience not explained by reason alone. It is understood through intuition and experienced with human feeling and emotion. An aesthetic experience could include a mixture of feeling, such as pleasure, rage, grief, suffering, and joy. I personally believe that art when follows the shape of nature can be not only beautiful but also amazed the spectator.
